House Painting Process

Our Exterior House Painting Process

  1. Pressure wash siding and trim to remove loose paint, dirt and algae.
  2. Perform additional scraping to ensure all loose paint is removed.
  3. Prime all bare wood spots with Zinzer 1-2-3 latex primer. All primer to be applied by hand to seal cracks and crevices.
  4. Caulking repairs to be made after priming; no caulking will be applied to a bare wood surface.
  5. Apply chosen siding paint by sprayer. Paint to be applied at a rate which meets or exceeds manufacturer specifications. Extra paint to be applied to high weathering areas. This is generally those portions of the house which face south and get dried out the fastest.
  6. All trim to be applied by hand.
  7. No paint drips anywhere they do not belong: roof, concrete, shrubs.
  8. Small plant damage to be kept to a minimum.
